Salary: £49,000 OTE  (including £27,000 to £41,000 basic depending on qualifications and experience, plus bonus and additional £2,000 for EV qualification) 

Hours: (42) Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, including 1 in 2 Saturdays 8:00am - 12:00pm

Lookers Chelmsford Volvo are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician to join their fantastic workshop. While working alongside other experienced technicians, you will play a vital role carrying out vehicle services and repairs, and MOT tests in line with ministry guidelines.

Here at Chelmsford, you will report to the accomplished service manager Andrew Gerrie, who will give on-going support to ensure you have the tools needed to succeed in your role. Our technicians play a vital role within our Service team by delivering first class customer service every time. We want you to be part of our success. If you’re a qualified Vehicle Technician or an experienced Mechanic, whether you work in a dealer group or independent garage, we want to hear from you

• Carrying out MOT tests in line with ministry guidelines
• Reporting any failures to the Workshop Controller, advising work required for the vehicle to be road worthy
• Occasionally support in completing repairs
• Complete all relevant paperwork and lease with the customer
• Carrying out any ad-hoc duties as and when required
• Vehicle servicing and repairs

The ideal candidate will have minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent, motor industry experience (brand or non-brand), a full and valid UK driving licence, and is a qualified MOT tester. You’ll be self-motivated whilst being able to support your team, ambitious and eager to learn, and are able to work to and maintain the highest of standards to all vehicles that take a spin through our doors.

The salary range for this vacancy is between £27,000 for a PDI Technician up to £41,000 for a Master Technician, plus an additional £2,000 for EV qualification.
