HGV Service Manager

Service Manager needed at a Southampton based Commercial dealer.

Job Title - Service Manager (Commercial)

Location - Southampton

Salary - £38,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience

Hours - Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 6.00 pm with ½ an hour unpaid lunch plus every third or fourth Saturday morning, 8.00 am to 12 noon, dependant on the needs of the business. 

Working within the service team in this fast paced, busy depot, you will be a key member at the heart of our whole operation.

Job Summary:

• This is a very hands-on role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation of the service department duties to include assisting or covering workshop control, for holiday/absence. 
• Cultivate successful business sales culture focused on customer service excellence, customer retention and new business, for both Workshop and Parts. 
• Operating to achieve a very high KPI standard, MOT pass rates, breakdown results, CSS reports, maintaining dealer standards and audits at all times.
• Fully integrate yourself in the systems and processes so you have broad brush understanding of all, as diverse as jobs card creation, customer updates, retail costing, workshop control, parts processes and systems.
• Manage the day-to-day workshop activities and to ensure productivity, stock control, and quality performance measures are met.
• Increase efficiency, effectiveness and profitability by managing and engaging the team’s productivity and financial target attainments.
• Ensure robust group standardized policies are carried out and adhered to by all staff.  
• Identifying and implementing training needs for all staff, to include staff recruitment.
