What does a role as an MOT Tester entail?
MOT Testers carry out a responsible role in ensuring that all vehicles are tested in accordance with Ministry standards and that the company is meeting its obligations as an approved MOT centre. The role may also involve:

What qualifications do you need to become an MOT Tester?
You ideally will need to hold NVQ levels 1,2 and 3 or equivalent in a relevant vehicle maintenance subject, as well as a current SMART Card. Employers will likely also expect GCSEs at a minimum. You will usually need English and Maths at grades A*-C (9-4).
What skills do you need to become an MOT Tester?
